Sunday February 18, 2007 will be the 56th NBA All Star Game at the Thomas & Mack Center . The NBA All-Star competitions will tip off on Friday, Feb. 16th, as the League's top rookies and second-year players square off in the Rookie Challenge. The excitement will continue with next day with a shooting competition featuring NBA Legends, NBA and WNBA players. The evening's grand finale, the Slam Dunk Contest.

Monday Night Newbie

Will Mz. New York be just as addictive as on her own show as she was on Flavor of Love??

VH1 wanted to create a spinoff of Flavor of Love produced with a rejected contestant from one of the seasons. When the show idea was initially pitched, it was to be called "The Flavorette" and producers wanted it to star "Hottie" from Season 1. However, when "New York" returned as a contestant partway through Season 2, the ratings climbed substantially and their focus shifted to her. They ultimately decided that "New York" would be a better choice to bring in viewers. In October of 2006, "New York" confirmed that the show was happening and she had whittled her own contestants down to the final three at that point.

The show premieres tomorrow night at 8:00pm on Vh-1...tune in to see if its worth your time.

The Queen has crowned her....QUEEN?!?!?

Well, apparently after many years of speculation, the rumors have finally been confirmed: Queen Latifah believes in U.N.I.T.Y. -- with the ladies. Her personal trainer (pictured above), Jeanette Jenkins has confirmed that the two were, uh, ARE, indeed lovers and have been for four years now. I will let that marinate people. Are we really suprised? She played the role of 'Cleo' a little too suspect to me in "Set It Off"...I'm just sayin. Besides, if you have the ability to have a PERSONAL TRAINER for FOUR YEARS and you still snackin on ding-dong's and ho-ho's with little definition in the tricep area, what are yall really doin during these sessions???

Movie of the Week

PLOT: Chris Gardner is a family man struggling to make ends meet. Despite his valiant attempts to help keep the family afloat, the mother of his five-year-old son Christopher is buckling under the constant strain of financial pressure. No longer able to cope, she reluctantly decides to leave. Chris, now a single father, continues to doggedly pursue a better-paying job using every sales skill he knows. Without a financial cushion, Chris and his son are soon evicted from their apartment and forced to sleep in shelters, bus stations, bathrooms or wherever they can find refuge for the night. Despite his troubles, Chris continues to honor his commitment as a loving and caring father, using the affection and trust his son has placed in him as an impetus to overcome the obstacles he faces.

Ok, I could barely post this without reachin for my Puffs! I ain't gonna be NO GOOD on Friday! I have been waiting for this movie ever since I saw the 'coming soon' previews months ago in the theatre. With all the publicity this film has gotten over the past few weeks, it is sure to be a hit (Will never dissapoints - and that cutie pie of a son!).

First Friday's 1 Year Anniversary Fashion Review

Well, well well. I must say despite the ridiculously long wait to get a drink, NO COAT CHECK (in the middle of winter we have to carry our coats/hats around the hot-ass club), and an increase in the cover -- from $10 to $15 -- I would say the event was a success. After last month's flop at the Holiday Inn, we were debating on whether or not to even bother showing up for "the event was so huge it had to be moved to a Saturday!"...but we sucked it up, buttoned up and headed out. Nice crowd, good music, and hopes for the next one...until we found out it was gonna be at GROWN FOLKS. Well, I guess if you're not there by 10:32, you won't get in considering its the size of my Big-momma's living room - the one we're only allowed in on Christmas. Really Ambiance? Grown Folks??? **Sigh**...its not too late to rebuke that, ya know...

On to the fashion....

Ok, I'm not mad at the sistah on the right for gettin HER look together despite the obvious..

(**clears throat**) Ahem, attention, attention: THIS, my friends, a 'Top Model' does not make. Please gag us with this pearly mess of a tie before you wear it again. AND IS THAT A CAMEL TOE I SEE?!?!?!

Janedoe: I must say looking at this outfit gave me flashbacks of the last Chippendale show I went to.

Dammit, if the valet was outside where she was supposed to be I wouldn't have had to park so dam far away!

Ok, we see you with the shout out to the eighties! Please give a lesson to 'Pearly Tie & Cufflinks' above on how to administer a throwback look. F*kn fabulous.

Janedoe: Is that Velvet?!

There was some disagreements about this one. Several. One issue: Unless you're in a girl band, you shouldn't be dressing this much in unison. And more importantly, which one of these grown ass women made the call suggesting the same color palette?!? But, nevertheless, since we are not haters here at the Juicespot- for Sextuplets, they look very polished and fab.

This ensemble is completely unfalttering on her. And don't even get me started on the horrendous boots I had to look at all night. Cute hair though!

Janedoe: Red is such an elegant color, especially around the holidays. I really like that red quilted bag!

Dam. **sigh** If you're gonna wear a DIOR necklace out in public, please up the fabness. This is just not right. (...going to lie down for awhile in hopes this is all a bad dream...)

Janedoe: I am all for "au naturale" for a daytime look when you are out shopping, etc. but maybe this girl should've dipped that pinky in some concealer before she left out the house!

These girls always get it right! (ok -- except for that dam tie. TIES ARE NOT THE HOTNESS PEOPLE. It just makes you look like you forgot to take it off when you left work...mental note peeps)

Janedoe: These ladies definitely studied their fashion books, as "purple" is one of the hottest colors this season!

**I would just like to add to this, there was a superb usage of PURPLE this weekend on a chick with a black sweater dress & hot black booties. She jazzed it up with purple tights. We saw you! 2 thumbs up!!**

Janedoe: This guy ...

(a) Hasn't been out the house since this time last year.

(b) was told by his doctor that he only had 3 more days to live, so he was enjoying his last hours of life.

(c) was trying to win "the obnoxious guy of the evening" award

or,

(d) is doing an advertisement for Orbitz gum (note the big glob on the right side of his jaw) & is relaying to us that his fresh breath copped him TWO numbers from hot guys at the bar

Janedoe: I noticed that he is wearing a wedding ring..what woman in her right mind would put up with this guy?! But judging by this photo, is that the spouse that he's cuddled up with? By the way, is that AKON?!


Janedoe: He just had to ruin a good photo op! Yes, we see you behind all that fur! Security!please keep this guy away from future events! He is scaring everyone with his erratic behavior!

I-565 Bus Crash Update

WAFF 48 reports:

" WAFF 48 News wants to share funeral arrangements for the four girls who died in the school bus wreck on I-565 Monday.

Visitation for Christine Collier will be Friday from Noon to 9:00pm at Nelms Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00pm at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church located at 215 Winchester Road. Burial will be at Berkley Cemetery.

Visitation for Nicole Ford will be held Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00pm at Royal Funeral Home on Oakwood Avenue. Nicole's funeral will be held Friday at Noon at the True Light Church of God in Christ on Pulaski Pike.

Arrangements haven't been set for Tanesha Hill, but we do know that Royal Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Nelms Funeral Home is handling Crystal McCrary's arrangements."

Also, the Juicespot would also like to add that Redstone Federal Credit Union (Wynn Drive location) will be accepting donations until 6:30pm tonight for the victims & their families. They have already raised $37,ooo from the community and are gladly accepting anything you have to offer. Every little bit counts. "Substantial negotiations" have begun between HBO and the four stars of Sex & the City" to produce a movie version of the series, according to the gossip magazine OK! Such a movie had been prominently discussed after the series ended a six-year run in 2004, but at least two of the original stars committed themselves to other projects. However, a studio insider told OK! that each of the four actresses, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon, is now available for the movie. "Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground," the source said.

So at Cici's 21st b-day party last week, she was spotted
quite cozy and as Page Six reports "quite fixed on" the fineness that is Michael Ealy.
I guess she's trying to go to the other end of the manliness spectrum (away from
Bow Wow) with this 33 year old man. I wouldn't be surprised if they were kickin
it on the low--CiCi isn't blind. That man is sexy.

So Bobby has knocked up Supahead? Boo. According to media sources, Supahead is now pregnant with Bobby Brown's baby. The sad thing is, this sounds so ridiculous that I actually think there's some truth to it. Rumor had it that Supahead was back with her ex Bill Maher as of recent. And she's been rockin' an engagement ring lately. So let's hope that this chick didn't go and fully lose her damn mind by getting engaged to Bobby. But I also hear the two are in talks of filming their own reality show together. *Sigh*

AND SPEAKING OF WHACK & DESPERATE REALITY SHOWS:

Some chicks will do ANYTHING to add 30 seconds to their 15 minutes. Sources are saying they may be shooting more risque pics together in the future AND taping a show together. Boo.

And the Winners Are...

We promised a complete analysis of the fashion from First Friday's: Chocolate & Champagne - and here it is! We had several people who preserved their sexy and weren't afraid to run it...and here are the top contenders:

The tailored shirt/mini dress is a hard look to pull
off, but kudo's to this fab chick who rocked it with this season's must have:
the wide belt. Xtra snaps for turning up the cuffs!

These ladies are very well accessorized; as well as a great
complement to each other, except for the "Supreme" on the end, she went a little overboard with the satin gown...

We didn't want to be evil and split this pic in half -
but, er, uh, we are all in agreeance that there is only ONE fab outfit here. And
it doesn't involve ill-fitting, unflattering sailor pants with big
buttons.

This may be questioned by some, but this is, indeed a fab
dress. She should have let her hair down, and added a little more
accessories...but nonetheless, love the dress. Horizontal stripes can NOT be worn by just anyone, but she rocked it.

Just fab.

We are gonna excuse the 'state' of these girls here, since
this is a fashion poll...but we are loving the red, black & white
combo here. And we are definitely excited about layering multiple chains as our
drunken friend has done here. Loves it!

And now for the missess...dammit. We didn't want to do this, but some people just don't get it. Hopefully these 'lessons' will end the future horror:

The thing that just really bothers me personally (besides the very
unflattering shade of red lipstick here), is that I don't understand what
prompted these 'let's go camping' outfits?? I can't tell whether they are going to the mall or the Black Arts Festival. 2 tickets. And a warning to obey the DRESS CODE next time.

...these shorts need to go back to the windows for which she pulled
them off of. SATIN SHORTS = 30 days in the hole. Use that time to
come up with a more 'breathable' outfit that doesn't tug at your thighs like
over-cooked sausages.

ONE MORE WARNING: as stated in a previous post, we will be WATCHING YOU tomorrow night...just because the dress cod requires 'all black' does not mean it is going to be a safe outfit night. Take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror before you go out; and then AFTER THAT, ask for a friends advice.
